After pursuing him in the past, the Celtics finally got Michael Finley. The Celtics signed the 6-7 swingman after he was bought out by San Antonio. Finley will join the Celtics Saturday and likely make his first appearance when they host Washington Sunday. The big question now is how Finley, who turns 37 Saturday, will fit into the rotation."We don't know yet," said Doc Rivers. "But he was available, he's a guy of high character, and he can shoot. But to be honest, we don't know yet if he fits in or not. But adding a veteran can't hurt."Finley struggled with the Spurs this season, but Rivers said, "I think he has basketball left in him. Mike can still play, but we don't know if he will be in the rotation or not.

Michael Finley will celebrate his 37th birthday Saturday as a member of the Boston Celtics. The veteran swingman asked for and was granted his release from the San Antonio Spurs earlier this week. Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce was a late addition to the starting lineup Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons. Pierce, who missed three games with a thumb injury, wasn't listed on a lineup sheet passed out a few minutes before the opening tip, but replaced Marquis Daniels when the introductions were made.
